# Sub Structure
# Plunging Pile Starter Cage Setout Procedure
- Set out Pile centre with pin or spike.
- Check Pile case: Measure three points on top of the case, then create an arc with 3 points, compare the arc centre point with the design pile centre, tolerance usually is 75mm. Write top of case RL on the case to give Keller a reference.
- Check Pile cage: Stake out top of cage (steel) RL to help them put the cage in the right height. (If there is no top of cage in set out file, usually it is 75mm below the pile cut off level, however, confirm with the piling crew or the engineer) Three points on top of starter bars, then create an arc with 3 points, compare the arc centre point with design pile centre.
Once everyone is happy, try to asbuilt as many cage bars as you can. (We won’t be able to asbuilt piles after pouring)

# Pier Starter Cage
- Starter Cage jig set out
- Mark up 4 footings for the jig (can be done with long pole)
- Once the jig is placed, check centre lines, make sure the rotation and offsets are all good.
- Mark one RL on top of jig for height reference
- Once starter cage is in, check the centre lines on top of cage (CIG should mark the centre lines on the cage)
- Asbuilt centre lines and all the starter bars after everyone is happy.
