# Ground Penetration Permit GPP

Where excavation takes place on the worksite the underground Services in the area will need to be sprayed on the ground before the GPP superintendent will approve the permit.

  • Add in the service master to the Map layer in Trimble Access
  • Stake out each service to the line
  • Spray out in RED:

  - Quality
  - Service Type (Water/Gas/Elec)
  - Diameter if known
  - Depth (Cut value on the controller) in meters, 2 decimal places

  • Stake out relative design features (hardstand subgrade, bottom of footing etc) and Spray out in Blue:   - Cut Depth in meters, 2 decimal places.

DANGER

All staked out features (service and design files) are to be stored within the JOBFILE. GPS Rapid Point are suitable for this in this scenario. These staked out points are records of the time and location of spray marks for the GPP. If a service is struck in the field, the job file will be use to check that the correct service master is used and that all the applicable services were sprayed out.
In the case that these points are not stored and a service was struck, ThinkSpatial could be liable for costs of repair and loss in production to the project.
