# 04 - WorkingFolder

  • All day to day survey work to be put in here.
  • This area is to contain setout and asbuilt files for all areas
  • Working folder file and folder names to be abbreviated for simplicity
  • File names within folder to match folder names to continue tracability – this should flow through to the survey setout files as well
  • General folder structure should adhere to something along the lines of:
  • Disicpline
    • Area
    • This should can contain a master asbuilts progress file that should have the design and all relevant asbuilt dwgs xrefed in to quickly view the progress of asbuilts and identify any missing data
      • Feature of area
        • Setout data of feature - Setout folders to have S in the folder and subsequent files names
        • Working data of feature – general processing or working folder (Working folder to have W in the folder and subsequent file names
        • Asbuilt data of feature - theoretically each setout folder should have at least one corresponding asbuilt folder and is to contain the asbuilt data and all reports (working and deliverables)
          • Asbuilt folder should contain a master DWG (with a name that doesn’t change) and any report/spreadsheets should be dated in the filename
          • ANY DELIVERABLE FILES MUST BE DATED IN THE FILE NAME

See below for examples of folder structures – This should eliminate any duplication of setout files and asbuilt reports etc
